IntroductionWelcome to the PC2Me Guide for Help and Reference information. PC2Me provides remote control of your desktop* from your iPhone or iPod touch. All you need is a desktop, an iPhone or iPod touch, a choice of connection methods, and the PC2Me Server from 1stWorks.
Overview You install the PC2Me Server software on your computer, register it (which gives it a unique Personal Server Identity) and leave it running. Then, you connect to your PC2Me Server from your iPhone or iPod touch, and view or control your desktop remotely.The connection method choices are:
When you install a PC2Me Plus Native App, you give it the identity that you created for your PC2Me Server. The identity also becomes part of a unique web addess that you use when connecting through Safari. The address is http://your-identity.PC2Me.net. For more information, see the topics under Getting Started and PC2Me Server setup. Availability At this writing, PC2Me Server is available for Windows 2000, XP, and Vista 32-bit. There is no native Macintosh version, although we understand that users can run it on an Intel-based Macintosh under Bootcamp or Parallels.
Security All data transfers are statefully compressed, partial rectangles of screen images. No file data from your computer is transferred by the PC2Me products. Registration You are required to register the PC2Me Server. For more information, see Registration. Licenses The PC2Me Server is provided at no charge by 1stWorks Corporation for an initial trial period. After the trial period, you may be required to buy a license in order to continue using it.
